STUDIO DEMOLITION!
We built virtual studios for the graduate students. Like many structures in Second life that are not planned around participatory events, they failed. So we blew them up in a dramatic demolition party. The rest of the Island survived.

OVERVIEW
The Virtual Worlds Lab at The University of Texas at Dallas conducts research in immersive, multi-participant 3D environments that support collaborative research, instructional, and creative projects.

This cross-disciplinary lab explores the future of interactive art and technology through the development of distributed communities and social networks in real time online spaces and the emerging metaverse.
We are developing a series of Islands in Second Life with research, art, office, and conference spaces. Read more about it here.
The Virtual Worlds lab is part of the Emerging Media Initiative in Arts & Technology inside the School of Arts & Humanities at UTD.
