Objective

Obtain a management position in software development. Expand my knowledge of computer science and physics.

Professional Experience

1/2005 - present UT Dallas Visual Computing Lab Richardson, Texas
Research Assistant
Dissertation work (http://viscomp.utdallas.edu/people.php), programming, and publish papers (See "Publications"
below).
° Designed VEGGIE - Visual Environment for Graph Grammars: Induction and Engineering. Work includes merging a Spatial Graph Grammar (SGG) system with a version of SubdueGL, a graph grammar induction system. Notable extensions and enhancements to both results in a reinforcement learning system for context free graph grammars. Future work includes extending into context sensitivity and adding data mining preprocessing via FACADE.
° Extended FAÇADE (Fast and Automatic Clustering Approach to Data Engineering) to handle N dimensional datasets (http://viscomp.utdallas.edu/FACADE).

12/2003 - 12/2004 Texas Schools Project Richardson, TX
Research Assistant
Network Administration: managed hardware and software in a multi OS environment for the Texas Schools Project. Primary issues related to maintaining network security and remote access within the contractual obligations to the Texas Education Agency.

12/2002 - 12/2003 High Energy Particle Physics Richardson, TX
Research Assistant
Led the Super BaBar calorimeter simulation based on the Geant4 and CLHEP physics libraries. The simulation allows researches to analyze the efficiency of various calorimeter materials used to collect the energy output of high-energy particle collisions. The simulations play a key role in selecting a calorimeter configuration for the Super BaBar particle detector. Elements include CAD based objects using CSGs, its BREPS based solids, and its NURBS based descriptions. Several custom objects were built that became useful to several other developers either directly or as a tutorial for building their own objects.

8/2000 - 12/2002 Texas Schools Project Richardson, TX
Research Assistant
Processed, normalized, and maintained large data files for statistical research for the Texas Schools Project (Dr. John Kain), an ongoing multi-directional research effort to enhance government policy on educational issues. Led effort to normalize data elements from various data sources in to a single coherent data source based on the submitted Texas Education Agency's data file standard for years 1989 to 2002. Primary effort focused on an ID key for cross-indexing disparate data sources using record linking processes.
