Joe Budden: Mood Muzik Joe Budden is a success story in reverse. He began as a mainstream artist and due to trials and tribulations; he has only released mix tapes in the underground circa since his debut album “Joe Budden” in 2003. His latest creation for his fans is "Mood Muzik 2: The Worse of Joe Buddens". Budden uses his unique style and dances around a flurry of creative beats. He gets extremely personal with his lyrics. Joey touches on almost every subject. On "Dum out" he raps without stops or chorus to vent his thoughts of the business side of the music industry and how other rappers fall victim to it. He gets personal and talks about his recent life with "Are you in that Mood yet" and "The Future". He elaborates on his child and his relationship with his son's mother. The jewels of the album are "Let's get it Poppin" and "6 minutes of Death". Here Joey takes time and tears apart an exciting beat. Filled with metaphors and clever punch lines, "Lets get it Poppin" will keep you on your toes. "6 minutes of Death" features two of Joeys label mates as they each have 2 minutes to showcase their skill and they all perform remarkably.
Saigon Rap has made a name for itself for glorifying criminals and gangsters, Saigon is both. Fresh out of jail with stories to tell and concepts to put on paper, but is this a good thing? From the perfected craft of Saigon , I would say yes. Saigon stands out on how interprets the beat that he raps over. With a non stop verbal assault, Saigon is someone to watch for. While he does mention facts of his criminal background, he does not glorify it. On the contrary he constantly tries to send out an opposing message. He preaches that rappers portray themselves as something they are not and listen to rap for the music factor not for influence. No official album has dropped yet, but while fans wait for "The Greatest Story Never Told” he has dropped several mix tapes with exceptional concepts. " Saigon : The YardFather pt. I & II" are both classic material. Also "Warning Shots" will be a good introduction for those who want a taste of Saigon . It contains songs from both YardFathers and some other "Freestyles" where Saigon takes a beat and displays his talent.
Canibus: Rip The Jacker
The King of the underground returns. Canibus Takes battle rap to another extreme. When he raps you feel as if it is a fight between him and the beat. His voice holds anger and he vents when he raps. His word play is amazing when he makes longer words rhyme. With "Rip The Jacker" Canibus takes some eccentric beats and add eccentric rhymes. Maybe the greatest rapper of his time only quotes can explain the power of Canibus. Quotes "I'm known geographically and intergalactically That's why I got extraterrestrials that wanna battle me They even tried kidnapping me, and they would've snatched me if the craft didn't get trapped in the earth's gravity. Engines stalled and failed. Crashed into a farmers field and that's really what caused Roswell " "Vibrating and spinning, faster than 12-cylinder engines With nitrogen in 'em, faster than F-1 McLaren pistons Fast enough to give your brain an aneurysm Because you are all slower than fat girl's metabolism" "Moving at a velocity That'll break your stop-watch if you're clocking me My concrete jungle is like Jumanji But iller than what you seen in the cinema A five foot eight [man] wit more horsepower than twelve cylinders, my brain consists of twin Pentium chips That's double the clock speeds of a 5-86 And noting about my physical matrix is basic I kick flavor beyond what your tongue is capable of tasting You'll be so surprised you won't believe your own eyes It's like explaining color to a man that was born blind "Yo, the Canibus is an animal with a mechanicalmandible Coming to damage you, spitting understandable slang at you, I be the all seeing lyrical, hammerhead sharp peripheral With 360 degree visual when the signal was given, MCs get bitten with venom from a poisonous algorithm liable to kill 'em. My style will get in 'em, way up in 'em my face don't belong in [Magazines] It belongs on the shroud of turan, for certain I grab mic's and murder and become as wickedas Satan worshippers going to Catholic Church servicesYou heard of this the lyrical verbalist, slash (/) herbalist The wrath of my cold-blooded verses is merciless Rap snap, get your ass cracked like bear traps Contaminate your air sacs like tear gas And I swear black, try to battle me, you won't last I'll turn you into the artist formerly known as, I'll blow you to ashes with tactics Strip you naked, and then make you hug a cactus
