GeoSpatial Information Analysis

Research Keywords: Geographic data integration, geospatial web services, Geography Resource Description Markup Language Emerging uses of geographic data in decision-making, planning, management and numerous other aspects of business-model has caused a great demand on geographic data supply and consumption chain. More and more clearinghouses are storing and publishing geographic data to cater to user needs. However, existence of an enormous amount of disparate ontologies to represent different parts of geographic domain is a stumbling block in effective data integration. However, effective query formulation requires data merging on the fly. Otherwise query resultset contains undesired diluted data. To solve this problem, we introduce Geography Resource Description Markup Language, a GML variant for Semantic Web. We plan to build web-service that takes advantage of this language.
