November 29, 1999: The final exam schedule is:

Dr. Cantrell's section: Tuesday, December 7 from 8:00 to 10:30 AM
Dr. Dodge's section: Friday, December 10 from 5:00 to 7:30 PM

This post corrects the hours of the exam for Dr. Cantrell's section. The exam dates have been posted since the beginning of the semester.

October 27, 1999: Some students would like to use the online exercises for practice, and see what score they made in each practice session. Responding to this request, we have moved the graded homeworks to different directories. To see one's grade on homework assignment 4, for example, please use the URL http://www.utdallas.edu/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/cantrell/WWWAssign.cgi?AssignmentName=~cantrell/public_html/WWWtest/hw04/graded/hw04.txt The general rule is that you add "graded/" just before the file name "hwN.txt", where N runs from 1 to 4 (so far).

October 25, 1999: A bug in a procedure used by the program that does the grading of on-line homework assignments led to incorrect grades for Homework Assignment 4, problems 5-8, whenever the hexadecimal number to be converted contained one or more digits from the set {a,b,c,d,e,f}. This bug has been corrected, and the key should now display the correct answers and a correct score. Many thanks to those who reported this problem!
