We are a cognitive neuroscience lab studying the mental processes involved in reasoning, decision-making, working memory, and motivation. We study the relationship between brain and behavior in healthy individuals with functional brain-imaging (fMRI) and psychological experiments. We also study brain function in individuals with psychiatric or neurological impairments in an effort to better determine how the impairments affect mental functions.  </FONT></DIV> <DIV class=s2> <FONT style='font-family:"Univers";font-size:14pt;'> </FONT></DIV> <DIV class=s2> <FONT style='font-family:"Univers";font-size:14pt;'>The lab utilizes the state-of-the-art research facilities at three Dallas-area locations: The <A class=s2 HREF="http://www.brainhealth.utdallas.edu/">Center for BrainHealth ®;</A> the <A class=s2 HREF="http://www8.utsouthwestern.edu/utsw/cda/dept28702/files/197034.html">Department of Psychiatry</A> and <A class=s2 HREF="http://www.utsouthwestern.edu/utsw/home/research/AIRC/index.html">Advanced Imaging Research Center</A> at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center; and the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at the main campus of UT Dallas in Richardson TX.  </FONT></DIV> <DIV class=s2> <FONT style='font-family:"Univers";font-size:14pt;'> </FONT></DIV> <DIV class=s2> <FONT style='font-family:"Univers";font-size:14pt;'>In addition to our studies of the relationship between brain and behavior, we are involved in the study of psychiatric and neurological conditions including Dementia, Autism, Schizophrenia, and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
