G. R. Dattatreya received the B. Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, M.E. in Electrical Communication Engineering, and Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science and Automation, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. He is is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science, Eric Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science. He has served as a Visiting Faculty in the Department of Computer Science, University of Maryland at College Park, in the Center for Artificial Intelligence, ITESM, Monterrey, Mexico, as a Consultant in the Purdue University's Malaysia Polytechnic Development Project, and as a Senior Scientist with the Scientific Analysis Group, Defence Research and Development Organizations, Delhi, India.

Research Interests

Research theme: Stochastic Modeling, Parameter Estimation, Optimization, and Simulation in Computer Systems and Networks and Signal Processing.

  1. Contention-free medium access and performance optimization (MAC) in wireless networks
  2. Cognitive radio networks
  3. Detection and parameter estimation for ELINT, MANETs, and cognitive radio
  4. Detection and tracking of wireless transmitter targets, with two aircrafts flying in formation
  5. Adaptive multicasting in high speed airborne networks
  6. Analytical results on infinite and finite buffer queues input by bursty data traffic
  7. Data mining for E-Commerce, sensor fusion, and security
