Dean Terry is Associate Professor of Aesthetic Studies in the Art & Technology program at the University of Texas at Dallas, and is the head of the new Emerging Media (EMAC) area. He is also director of Mobile Lab & the Online Worlds Lab. His areas of interest are emerging media, mobile media, online virtual worlds, social networks, personal narratives in film and text, media and cultural studies, new media art and philosophy. His award winning film Subdivided is currently playing on PBS stations around the country. His commentary on current events appears regularly in various online and print publications. He is also an entrepreneur with 15 years experience in the digital media business. His new media entertainment company PixelWave sold to AtomFilms (now a part of Viacom). He teaches digital arts and emerging media at UTD and develops film, writing and mobile media projects.
