Dr. Diandra Leslie-Pelecky's research group in the Department of Physics at The University of Texas at Dallas studies nanostructured magnetic materials to understand their fundamental properties, as well as potential applications such as MRI contrast agents, drug delivery and hyperthermia for cancer treatment. We use a variety of fabrication techniques, including mechanical attrition (milling or alloying), cluster deposition, and cluster deposition into fluids to produce materials with the appropriate cluster size and size distribution.
