Denis J. Dean is professor and head of the Geography and Geospatial Information Sciences programs in the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences at UT-Dallas. He is interested in all aspects of the geospatial sciences, but his research is primarially focused in four areas: The use of artificial intelligence and high performance computing approaches to address geospatial problems, the development of new spatial data analysis techniques, accuracy assessment of existing spatial data analysis techniques, and spatial optimization. He teaches courses on the nature of spatial data, spatial data analysis, and other areas of geospatial science.
Prior to coming to UT-Dallas in 2008, Dr. Dean was a faculty member in the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University.
