Tenured Full Professor at UTD since 2000
Department of Computer Science
Office: ES 3.226.
Edwin Sha's PGP public key.
He received the 2011 ACM TODAES Best Paper Award from ACM Transactions on Design Automation of Electronic Systems (Only one best paper was selected each year in all the fields of design automation.).
I enjoy teaching (proud of being a good teacher) and love to do research, especially working with students together.
I work closely and happily with all of my students and 14 graduated PhD’s. The relationship lasts forever. In these 5 years, three of them received UTD ECS Best PhD Dissertation Awards. Glad to work with and teach PhD students (or Visiting students, scholars 访问学生、学者) how to do research, and write papers in parallel embedded systems, embedded software, parallel computers and networking, etc. or anything you like to pursue more. Feel free to contact me.
Being a Buddhist, I have been trying to improve myself everyday to be a kinder and happier person. I respect all people in each religion or no religion. Everyone is equal with a beautiful Buddha heart.
Dr. Edwin Sha received the M.A. and Ph.D. degree from the Department of Computer Science,
His research interests include High-performance Computer and Network Architectures, Parallel Computation and Parallel Compiler, (Multi-Core) Embedded Systems, Real-Time Systems, Hardware/software Co-Designs, Parallel and Distributed Systems.
Until 2011, Dr. Edwin Sha has published more than 280 research papers
in refereed international conferences and premier journals. He served in the
program committees of numerous conferences and editors of many journals
including IEEE Transactions on VLSI Systems, IEEE Transactions on Signal
Processing, Journal of Embedded Computing, Journal of VLSI Signal Processing,
etc. He received Oak Ridge Association Junior Faculty Enhancement Award, Notre
Dame CSE Teaching Award, NSF CAREER
Award, NSF ITR grant, Microsoft Trustworthy Curriculum Award， NSFC Distinguished Overseas
Young Scholar （海外杰青）, and ChangJiang Scholar Honorary Chair Professorship （长江学者讲座教授）. He serves as the technical program
chairs or general chairs for many international conferences such as Great Lakes
Symposium on VLSI (GLSVLSI) 1994, Parallel and Distributed Computing (PDCS)
2000 and PDCS 2001, Parallel and Distributed Embedded Systems (PDES) 2005,
Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing (EUC) 2006, Embedded Software Optimizations
(ESO) 2006, EUC 2007, ESO 2007, International Symposium on Embedded Computing
(SEC 2008), ESO 2008, EM-Com 2009, ICISS 2011, DSOC 2012, etc.，etc. His research has been supported by NSF
(CAREER, ITR, EIA, IIS, CNS),
I am building up a laboratory called Hardware/Software Codesign Lab for DSP and Communications (CDC)
I am now reading and revising the translation of a commentary of a great Buddhist Sutra, Amitabha Sutra, 佛说阿弥陀经要解. 弥陀要解，英文翻译。 Here is The translation of the commentary 弥陀要解 英文翻译. (fee free to click it). This is the major sutra of Pure Land Buddhism, the most popular section of Buddhism in the world. I have improved myself a lot by doing this task.
Here are some thoughts I collected in learning Buddhism (in Chinese)：沙行勉学佛心得 (right click: Open in New Window or Tab).
