About Me

Dr. Euel Elliott is a Professor of Public Policy and Political Economy and the Senior Associate Dean in the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences (previously, Social Sciences) at the University of Texas at Dallas. He also serves as Program Head for the Public Policy and Political Economy program.

He received his BA degrees in Economics and Political Science from Virginia Tech in 1973. His graduate degrees include an MS in Pyschology from Radford University in 1976 and an MA in Political Science from Virginia Tech in 1982. He received his PhD. in Political Science from Duke University in 1987. Dr. Elliott has taught at Virginia Tech, the University of Oklahoma and the University of Georgia, and has been at UT Dallas since January, 1991.

He has taught a range of courses covering the topics of U.S. public policy, campaigns and elections, policymaking and institutions and policy processes and implementation.

His research interests include the dynamics of U.S. public policymaking, the relationship between technological change and policy evolution, and the application of complex adaptive systems to understanding political-economic change.
