Grace Jones D. Kalaw was awarded her BS in Chemistry from the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB), with research work on lectins with Dr. Marivic Lacsamana. After graduation, she joined the National Institute of Molecular Biology Biotechnology, Laguna, Philippines as a research assistant. She then worked as a college instructor at the UPLB Institute of Chemistry from 2001 until 2004. She then joined the Ferraris group in 2005, working on novel polysilsesquioxane hybrid membranes for proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) applications for her M.S. She is currently working on the synthesis of functional inorganic/organic block copolymer for PEMFC’s for her Ph. D. research.
