Short Bio
Xianjun Geng is an Assistant Professor in Information Systems in School of
Management, the University of Texas at Dallas. Previously he was an Assistant
Professor in Information Systems at the University of Washington. He received
his Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Economics, and Master of Engineering
from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and Ph.D.
in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Austin. His research
interests concern diverse economic, operational, and marketing aspects of
electronic commerce and information technology. He is especially interested in
how Internet-enabled IT transforms consumer behavior and firm strategy. His
work has appeared or is forthcoming in academic journals including Management
Science, Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management
Information Systems, Journal of Marketing, and Marketing Science. He served as
Associate Editor for Information Systems Research, and currently serves as
Associate Editor for Decision Support Systems and for Electronic Commerce
Research and Applications, and as Coordinating Editor for Information Systems
Frontiers. At University of Washington he has won Lex
N. Gamble Family Award for Excellence in the Field of E-Commerce (2005) for his
research, and Undergraduate Instructor of the Quarter (Autumn
2005, Winter 2008, also nominated in Autumn 2007 and Autumn 2008) for his
teaching.
