Assignment 3: Applying motion capture data to a skinned character.

Description


Clean and blend motion clips in MotionBuilder. For each motion clip, plot the motion clip to the skeleton in MotionBuilder, export it as a .fbx file, and import it into Maya.

In the following way, you will need to bind skin to your skeleton just once:
a). Bind a skin to your skeleton in a T-pose.
b). Export the skeleton with or without skin and import it into MotionBuilder.
c). Apply motion data to your skeleton in as described in MotionBuilder_Character.
d). Plot Character and export the skeleton alone (leave the skin!)
e). Import the skeleton with motion data by merging it into the skin bound character in a T-pose.
(Above is Step 7 of MotionBuilder_Character.)

If you need to (or want to), edit and blend motion clips using Trax Editor.

Render each clip out of MotionBuilder as a quicktime (or AVI) and add to the process book with the person who cleaned and blended the data.

Each of us did at least one file using the above procedure (clean, blend, import data to skeleton), but Jim Brank elected to do the bulk of the data cleaning.
