Users need to input k₁,l, NA, and k₂ by either typing the values into the text fields or clicking on the up or down buttons to change the values. The acceptable values for these variables are: 0.55<=k1<=0.85, 0.1<=lamda<=1, 0.08<=NA<=1.3, 0.3<=k2<=0.7.

The plot is the intensity of light incident on the image plane, with horizontal axis being the distance from the center and vertical axis representing the intensity. Value of R is given in the plot at the first minimum. Value of DOF is given in the text field in the bottom right corner of the applet.
