Clinical Service Delivery

1987 - 1993:  Dallas Audiological Services (Creig Dunkel):  adult/pediatric behavioral audiometry; employed on call.

1987 - 1993: Electrophysiology Labs of Dallas (Drs. Terese Finitzo and Kenneth Pool): Pediatric and adult ABR testing/interpretation in office, neonatal ICU, and hospital bedside, interpretation of Brain Mapping for evoked potentials; full- and part-time.

1987 - 1993: Children's Medical Center of Dallas (Karen Ford):  pediatric behavioral audiometry; part- and full-time

1987 - 1997: Dr. Maurice Edwards (St. Paul Hospital): adult/pediatric behavioral audiometry; part-time.

1987 -present: North Texas Screening/Diagnostic Services. Self-employed, administration of screening and consulting with private schools & corporations in Metroplex; part-time.

1992 - 1997: St. Paul Hospital Speech and Hearing Department (Jim Carter): adult/pediatric audiometry, initiated and administrate universal infant hearing screening program; initiated and administrate ototoxicity monitoring program; part-time; full-time.

1997 - 2000: Independent Industrial Audiology Consultant to Koch-Glitsch.

1998- 1999: Callier Center for Communication Disorders (Lee Wilson): Coordinate Outreach Program for Mobile Hearing Screening Van; Administration of operations, coordinate screenings and diagnostic evaluations with community facilities; recruit and supervise graduate students to perform hearing screening procedures, Project Supervisor of HADEN Project, etc; part-time; clinical supervisor providing audiological and hearing aid dispensing services inside the Center.

1998-to present: Senior Audiologist (Lee Wilson) conduct differential audiological diagnostic practice including hearing aid dispensing, ABR evaluations, and OAE testing; initiate an otoxicity monitoring program for rehabilitation hospitals; supervise graduate students.  Services are provided at the Callier Center for Communication Disorders; Baylor Rehabilitation Hospital; and Baylor Our Children’s House Rehabilitation Hospital.

2002 – present: Audiological Consulting Services

January 2005 – present:  Partner of Private Practice, Cedar Creek Hearing Center; Tool, Texas.

 

Non-Clinical Employment

1972 - 1975:  Amy's His & Hers Hair Salon (Chuck Phelps):  Supervise personnel, bookkeeper,  receptionist.

1975 - 1979:  Titche-Goettinger:  Executive Trainee/Departmental Manager/Assistant Buyer.  Responsible for supervising, scheduling, and training up to 35 sales associates at one time in departments having multi-million dollar revenue as an area manager.  Responsibilities for the buying office involved administrative tasks required for purchasing, marketing, distributing, and selling merchandise; all were dependent upon clear interactions with area managers, wholesale representatives, and company director.

1990  (Drs. Terese Finitzo and Sandy Friel-Patti) Pediatric Audiology using behavioral and electrophysiologic (ABR and Brain Mapping) evaluations in clinical and research populations: pediatric otitis media, adult dysfluency, spasmodic dysphonia, and neurogenic disorders. 

1986 - 1987:  Master's Thesis, Differences between insert and supra-aural earphones

1988 - 1993:  Brain Electrical Activity Mapping in Learning Disabled Children

1993 - 1995:  Dissertation Topic, Frequency-following responses (brainstem evoked responses) and brainstem timing qualities.  Funded by Lear Ashmore Research Grant and Margaret F. Jonsonn Research Fund.

1995 - 1997:  UTD Research Laboratory Supervisor/Coordinator (Dr. George Moushegian).  Establish research protocol, collect, manage data, and oversee administration of all aspects of research lab in Auditory Brainstem Electrophysiology, Auditory and Visual Cortical Mapping.

                     Funded by Margaret F. Jonsonn Research Fund.

1996 - present:  Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Protocols and Equipment

1998 - 2000:  Supervise the daily administrative activities and students involved in, Hearing Aid Dispensing to those in Economic Need (HADEN) funded by Texas commission for the Deaf and UTD/Callier Center (P.I., Linda Thibodeau).

1989 -present:  Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church, various subcommittees (i.e. Summer Free Lunch Program for 30  - 100 Children; Habitat for Humanity; Feed the Homeless; Environmental Concerns; Hearing Impaired Ministry; Breakfast with Santa for 350 people, Kitchen Task Force, etc.) involving planning, directing volunteers, and facilitating the process.

1990 - 1994:  Member of various Booster Clubs (PTSA, Choir, Drama, Cross-Country, R.O.T.C., Soccer, Academic Decathlon) at my daughters' high school.  Held office as Secretary then President of the Choir Booster Club.

1998 -  2002:  Administrative Council/Missions Chair Trietsch Memorial United Methodist Church: Oversee the missions of the church (Health Fair, Habitat for Humanity, Feeding Homeless, Free Lunch Program for Children, Blood Drives, Highway Clean up, Disaster Preparedness, etc).

1998 – Present  Leader of Mission trip to Rural Hospital Chicuque Mozambique Africa:  Audiology Project includes planning and overseeing nurses and nursing students training in basic hearing testing; train social action workers to conduct hearing screenings; perform hearing tests; dispense hearing aids.  Entire trip and supplies funded from private donations.
