Viva Volunteer! offers UT Dallas students, alumni, staff and faculty the opportunity to give back to the community through volunteering while welcoming new students to UT Dallas. This campus-wide service project is part of Welcome Week.
When the NSBE team first arrived, they were told that there was a gate that had to be removed, but it was the staff's understanding that it couldn't be done without heavy machinery.
The team quickly removed the gate and carried it away from the entrance.
Next was garden clean-up. The team removed old vegetation and prepared the soil for
the next planting.
Students had a chance to use some older technology to achieve their goals.
The staff from the Heritage Museum were thrilled with our work.
At the end of the experience, there was a mentoring moment as upperclass students
modeled the appropriate way to Whoosh.
