John McCracken is Clinical Professor of Healthcare Management at the Jindal School of Management of the University of Texas at Dallas and Adjunct Professor of Family and Community Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.  He is the founding director of the Alliance for Medical Management Education, an educational partnership between the Jindal School of Management and UT Southwestern. The Alliance offers a nationally recognized Healthcare Management Executive MBA for physicians and provides customized programs on leadership, strategy and operational improvement for hospitals, health systems and physician organizations.

John F McCrackenJohn formerly served on the faculty of the Columbia University Graduate School of Business, as a Wall St. investment banker and as the managing partner of a firm specializing in the turnaround management of distressed healthcare and physician organizations. 

John's healthcare experience includes having served on the boards of directors of a major hospital, physician group practice and managed care organization.  Since founding the Alliance in 1997, he has provided coaching and mediation services for physicians throughout the U.S. and presently serves as a coaching consultant to the Texas Medical Board. 

John holds a BA in economics from Southern Methodist University, an MSc in economics from the London School of Economics and a PhD in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  He is a recipient of the Jindal School of Management's Distinguished Teaching Award and the Executive MBA program's Most Outstanding Professor Award.  His former students have endowed the John F. McCracken Chair in Healthcare Management at the Jindal School of Management in his honor.
