Jason P. Jue received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1990, the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1991, and the Ph.D. degree in computer Engineering from the University of California, Davis in 1999. He is currently a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas, and director of the Advanced Networks Research Lab at UTD. Dr. Jue is conducting research that focuses on the design and analysis of next-generation optical network architectures and protocols, including work on control and management in optical networks, protocols for multi-domain optical networks, and methods for providing survivability in optical networks.

Dr. Jue was a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award in 2002, and received Recognition for Continuous Exemplary Contributions to Ph.D. Education and Research in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering at UTD in 2005. He is the co-author of papers that received the Best Paper Award at IEEE Globecom 2005, at the 14th International Conference of Optical Network Design and Modeling (ONDM) 2010, and at the IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) 2011.

Dr. Jue currently serves on the Editorial Board of IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials and the Editorial Board of Springer Photonic Network Communications Journal. He served as an Associate Editor of the IEEE/OSA Journal of Optical Communications and Networking from 2009-2012. He has been involved in the organization of several conferences and symposia on optical networking, serving as Technical Program Chair of OptiComm 2000, General Co-Chair of the Broadband Optical Networking Symposium at BroadNets 2004, Technical Program Co-Chair of the IEEE Globecom 2005 Symposium on Photonic Technologies for Communications, Co-Chair of the Fifth IEEE/CreateNet International Workshop on Optical Burst Switching, and Co-Chair of the ICCCN 2008 Optical Networking Track. Dr. Jue has served on the program committee of numerous conferences, including IEEE Infocom, the IEEE International Conference on Communications, IEEE Globecom, and the Optical Fiber Communication Conference.

Dr. Jue is a senior member of the IEEE and a member of the IEEE Communications Society. He served as Chair of the IEEE Communications Society Optical Networking Technical Committee from 2008-2009.
