June Levitt
Welcome to my web site. I'm a doctoral student at the
University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). I'm majoring in Communication Sciences.
My major interests are speech production, speech motor control, and Apraxia
of Speech (AOS).
I was born and raised in Japan. I majored in English
Literature for undergraduate. I joined a computer software company
soon after I finished my undergraduate degree and worked there for 13 years.
While I was working there, I was relocated to Dallas, Texas and I met my
husband, Mark. Mark is my best friend. We have three wonderful
children David, James and Sarah. They often surprise us with their
unique personalities. I started my graduate study at UTD in 2001, and
earned my master's degree in Applied Cognition and Neuroscience in 2003.
Family life is very important for Mark and myself.
However, we are encouraging each other's growth as individuals.
AREAS OF STUDY
Graduate school of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at UTD
offers interdisciplinary preparation in basic and applied aspects of Human
Development and Communication Sciences. The Faculty includes
specialists in Audiology, communication science,
communication disorders, cognitive psychology, cognitive science,
developmental psychology, and neuroscience. Core and specialized courses, in
conjunction with several types of research apprenticeships, provide a strong
foundation for establishing an independent program of research at the
pre-doctoral and post-doctoral level.
The following classes are the ones I've enjoyed as a part of
master's program.
