Brushing Up on Single Variable Calculus

If you need to brush up on your single variable calculus, here are the sections Stewart's "Calculus (Early Transcendentals)" Edition 7E that we rely on in Math 2415. Starred sections are especially important.

2.1, 2.7, 2.8, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4**, 3.10, 4.1, 4.3, 4.5, 4.7, 4.9, 5.1-5.4, 5.5**, 6.1, 6.2, 7.1

The material from Chapter 5,6,7 is used in Math 2415 Chapters 15, 16.

The material from Chapter 4,5,6 is used in Math 2415 Chapters 14, 15.

Exam One

Exam I will cover 12.1-12.6, 15.8 and 15.9 (but no integration), 13.1-13.4 (but no unit speed curves, curvature, components of acceleration, or Kepler's Laws), and 14.1. The exam is Friday Oct 5 from 2-4 pm.

Exam Two

Exam II will cover 14.3-14.8, 16.6 (parametrized surfaces, but not surface area), 15.1-15.3. The exam is Friday Nov 9 from 2-4 pm.

Final Exam

The Final Exam will cover all material covered on Eaxms I and II together with 15.4, 15.10, 16.1, 16.2, 16.3, 16.4, 16.5, 16.6, 16.7, 16.8. Exam Rooms
