Research:

  • Since 2004, I have been conducting research for my doctoral degree in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Texas at Dallas . My research focuses on the diamictite and volcanic rocks associated with the banded iron formation in the Arabian Nubian Shield ( Egypt and Saudi Arabia ). Detailed geochemistry, geochemistry, mineralogy and field mapping of the volcanic rocks and diamictite along the Neoproterozoic banded iron formation in Wadi Kareim and Wadi El-Dabbah in Egypt and Wadi Sawawin in Saudi Arabia .
  • M.S. thesis at City University of New York, Characterizing the mineral layering in the Nyack section of the Palisades by Frantz – Isodynamic Separation and optical study.

  • 2005 – Present: Department of Geosciences, University of Texas at Dallas, Richardson , TX , Teaching Assistant: Geochemistry; Oceans and Volcanology.
  • 2004 – 2005: Matador Resources Company, 1 Lincoln Centre, 5400 LBJ Freeway, Dallas , TX , GeoTech (part-time)
  • 1997-2000: Nuclear Materials Authority , Egypt , Field Geologist

 

Field Experience:

  • 2004-2006 Reconnaissance mapping, petrological, geochronolgical and geochemical studies of volcanic rocks and diamictite associated with Neoproterozoic banded iron formation in Egypt and Saudi Arabia (4 months).
  • 1997-2000, I was involved in many projects with the Nuclear Materials Authority in the Eastern Desert of Egypt.
