Selected Academic Projects

Home based network management system: 

Implemented a home based network management system using OpenWRT as the base. OpenWRT is a Linux-based firmware for embedded devices such as routers. Implemented various features like Fault management, configuration management and accounting management by developing a custom package using the OpenWRT SDK 

Distributed mutual exclusion, check pointing and recovery: 

Implemented Chandy-Lamport’s distributed mutual exclusion algorithm and the Koo-Toueg’s check pointing and recovery algorithm using Java as the programming language 

Securing XML Documents: 

This project attempts to secure XML documents by encrypting them. Programming language used was Java with MySQL as the database

Work Experience       

Verizon Services Operations, Irving, TX, USA (June 2009 – Current) - Intern  
		
Remote File and Registry Management 

* Designed and developed the tool using C#
* This tool is used to push any files or registry changes to any number of hosts
* The front end provides options to control the hosts that participates in these updates, and to choose 
  the file or registry changes to be pushed


Wrapper Enhancement Project 

* Project aims to upgrade the standalone application to a client/server based application
* Participated in design meetings and helped in creating the overall system design
* Developed the client side application (in C#) that communicates with a server to check for updates whenever it is launched
* Currently working in the design and development of a web based front end for 
  managing the configurations that would be used by the client side application
 

Wrapper Services 

* This is a multithreaded application used to detect the presence of the DA60 headset device used by the agents and also control 		  various features of the headset like headset mode, call clarity, echo control, side tone level and adjust the system time periodically by contacting a NTP    server
* Project uses various C# interop techniques to communicate with a number of dynamic link libraries (headset device and windows libraries)
* Designed, developed (in C#) and tested the application
 			

Verizon Services Operations, Irving, TX, USA (June 2008 – Dec 2008) - Intern
  
* Participated in the requirements analysis phase and developed the technology evaluations portal and the portal for the voice reporting application. 
* Developed and customized portions of the wrapper application that is used in conjunction with Avaya IP Agent. 	
* Programming language used for all the projects were C#/ C#.Net. Developed some user interfaces using Adobe Flex

* Developed and performed unit testing for “Tech help desk” portal.
* Prepared requirements, test scripts, test cases for testing mainframe and web applications
