Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science in conjunction with The National Science Foundation's "Computer Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Scholarships (CSEMS)" program is again offering one-year scholarships to CS/SE majors beginning in Fall 2006. The CSEMS scholarship award provides up to $3125 per year for qualified students as well as other substantial benefits. The scholarships are both need and non-need based.  This scholarship can be awarded to students who are already receiving other scholarships or financial aid.  Applications from students who would enhance the diversity of the student body, especially female, Hispanic and African-American students are encouraged.

An eligible student must:

be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or refugee alien at the time of application;

maintain full-time enrollment in the UTD computer science and/or software engineering bachelor degree program, with a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or above.

In addition, students applying for the need-based scholarships must have a demonstrated financial need as defined by the U.S. Department of Education to be the difference between the institutional Cost of Attendance and the Estimated Family Contribution.
