CS Placement Test

The purpose of the following quiz is to allow students to do a self assessment quiz to check if he or she is able to read algorithms in a high level language.

Furthermore to test if s/he is able to utilize fundamental programming structures, and apply the following concepts: Identifiers, Variables and constants, Primitive data types, Operator precedence and associativity, Control structures, Arrays and Function/methods.

If your score is: FAIL, the Erick Jonsson School of Enginering and Computer Science suggests you register for CS 1336 Computer Science Fundamentals


Instructions:

  • This is a multiple choice quiz.
  • After you click on the "Take a Quiz" link, the quiz itself will be displayed for you. Use the mouse to make your selection.
  • Some of the questions shows "segment code" in a non particular language using the fundamental programming structures. Read the code and answer the question.
  • After you have answered all the questions, press the "Get Score" button at the bottom of the quiz page. Do not do this until you are ready to submit your quiz, since your quiz is immediately submitted for grading after you select the button.
  • Your grade will appear in the next web page.
