Our group is committed to providing motivated undergraduates with the opportunity to be involved with research in nonlinear analysis, differential equation and
dynamical systems. We welcome inquiries from students interested in joining the group and gaining valuable research experience through participating
in our ongoing projects and/or developing their own research ideas. The goal of undergraduate mentoring in the group of Nonlinear Analysis and Dynamical
Systems is to expose students to the entire research process,
from proposal to publication. The student can usually enroll into an
Independent Study Course MATH 2v90
. Here v=3 assumes that the
student will be working about 10 hours/week on the project.
Graduate research opportunities
We are always interested in working with bright, motivated, graduate students that have high expectations of themselves and
wish to pursue a scientific training in nonlinear analysis and dynamical systems.
Prospective students can get a good sense of the research ongoing in the group, and the basis for our research program
by looking through the material available on the personal webpages of our group members and by reading through some of our
publications.
Typically, funding for graduate students may take the form of Teaching Assistantships through the Department of Mathematical Sciences,
depending on funding availability. Application deadline is typically January 15 (Admissions),
but all interested students should contact a group member prior to applying to the department.
All students are encouraged to seek extramural funding to support their research and here are some sources:

The amount of grant is based on the grant period, ranging up to a maximum of
$18,000 US dollars for a 12-month study. Due to fund limitation, only the grant recipients themselves rather than the institutes
or advisors will be subsidized by the National Science Council.
Young Emirati Postgraduate Research Students Mobility Award
Encourage young Emirati postgraduate research students to explore academic environments outside the UAE,
gain knowledge in the relevant field of study and establish international networks.
The applicant must be a UAE National citizen, who has completed undergraduate studies in any accredited Higher Education Institution in UAE or worldwide.
The applicant must be enrolled in a postgraduate research program
(e.g. Master’s by research or PhD studies) in an accredited Higher Education Institution in UAE or worldwide at
the time of submission.
Deadline: May
FEPESP's Research Internships Abroad for Brazilian graduate students and postdocs
offers to all of its fellowship holders in the State of São Paulo the opportunity to spend
from 4 to 12 months as research interns in foreign high profile research centers,
working in a theme associated to the research project the candidate is developing in São Paulo.
Applications are accepted at any time.
Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship Programme Provides a number of scholarships for
graduate study (mainly Masters, but DPhil's are also considered) to students from
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgystan, Kenya,
Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar, Mozambique, Syria, France, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada.

which they wish to continue into doctoral
studies. Deadline: August
Rarely are postdoctoral funds available for particular projects in our group.
Most often postdocs will acquire their own fellowships and grants either independently or in collaboration with a group member.
If you are currently completing or have recently completed your Ph.D., and have strong interests in our research, then
get in touch and we may discuss potential funding sources.
Some schemes that we might pursue are:
NSF Mathematical Sciences Postdoctoral Research Fellowships
Provides a stipend support for two nine-month academic years and six summer months, for a total of 24 months' support, within a 48 month period. The applicant
must, at the time of submission, be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or a legally admitted permanent resident alien of the United States, and
