Hello, I am Margie Renfrow. As of December 2007 we have awarded 338 Master's degrees and 178 PhD degrees in Physics. We have a rather large number of alumni who keep in touch, and I publish an alumni newsletter yearly called THE WHATSIS. In my opinion, we have the best Faculty of any school I have seen. All our classes are taught by Professors (not TA's), and almost all our graduate courses are small. The Professors take personal interest in the students, and, indeed, they have been extremely helpful to the students when their job search commences.
We have a graduate enrollment averaging about 75 with a portion of these being part-time students from nearby industry. When it comes to our students, I can brag that my "kids" are the greatest. We have a terrific group of students who work together very closely.
Our campus was built in an area where wildlife is still abundant. As you walk down the mall you will see squirrels, rabbits, various varieties of birds, occasionally an opossum or armadillo, etc., and they are not afraid of you. It is almost like a game preserve. There are apartments within walking distance on campus with areas which have been designated for Texas wild flowers. We would be happy to have you visit our campus at your convenience. Try us--I think you will like us.
