Creative Design Exercise Four

Create one layered .psd document - size 600x600 pixels. Every task will be on separate layers and have its own new imagery. Source imagery is provided by the instructor and/or you may use your own. Create layer comps to demonstrate tasks - layer comps will show document in completed state of each particular task. Name layer comps according to tasks.

This exercise will be done in teams of two. Example: MaryEllen Lacy and Vanessa Paugh. Submit the layered .psd file - Last name_Last name_CDE04.psd (Lacy_Paugh_CDE04.psd)

1. Make a selection of an object on a layer. Copy the selection to a new layer. Move the object on the new layer to a new location and rotate the object.

2. Use the healing brush making corrections on a new layer.

3. Use the patch tool.

4. Using the stamp tool, clone an object to a new layer and reverse the direction of the object.

5. Select an object on a layer and replace color to this specific hue - Hue: R-0, G-166, B-81.

6. Create a layer mask on a layer. Reveal a selected subject on the layer and hide the remaining image of the layer with the layer mask.

7. Apply a filter to a layer mask on a layer that has a selected subject revealed.

8. Paste an image into a layer mask on a layer.

9. Save a selection as an alpha channel and name the alpha according to the content of the selection.

10. Using the Lorem Ipsum dummy text provided, demonstrate multiple properties of the text tool. Select various areas of text and
(1) change the font family
(2) change the font color
(3) change the font size
(4) change the kerning between two characters
(5) change the tracking for selected characters
(6) change the leading between lines of text
(7) change the base line for characters and or words
(8) select a character and increase the vertical scale
(9) select a character and decrease the horizontal scale
(10) use faux bold on characters
(11) use faux italics on characters
(12) use all Caps on characters
(13) use small caps on characters
(14) use Superscript on characters
(15) use Subscript on characters
(16) underline a group of words
(17) strikethrough a word
