Instructor's announcements. Last updated on : May 3 - 11:32

- I turned in the letter grades, they should be on-line in 1-2 days. Some statistics follow: Maximun overall grade possible was 104. The overall grades of students passing the course ranged from 55 to 87. Grades from 76-87 got A; 64-75 got B; 55-63 got C. That is 13 As, 23 Bs and 7Cs for passing grades. No D is given in Spring 2005.

- Please review the formula sheet that you will receive in midterm 3.

- Send me two multiple choice question per person by Monday noon, April 18. I will put your questions into midterm 3 on April 20.

- Please be aware that hw solutions are posted at the latest by Saturdays. If you submit a hw after the solutions are posted, you do not get any credit.

- You may want to join APICS , a US wide organization of operation management professionalls. I am told that student membership is $20/year and student members receive discounts from APICS certification tests. For more info e-mail: apicsutd@yahoo.com .

- Pls go to WebCT to see your grades from the prerequisites test. There were 15 questions. If you got 6 or 7 of those correct, your knowledge as of now does not seem to be sufficient to follow the course material. You must find ways to remedy this, say by reading your notes from the earlier courses, getting additional help thru Math lab at the library, buying the study guide for BA3352 and spending at least 2hrs per week to solve the exercises in the guide. I hope this early indication of where you stand helps you to concentrate on your weaknesses at the begining of the semester when you have free time.

- Answers to the prerequisite test: 1.B, 2.C, 3.B, 4.D, 5.B, 6.C, 7.D, 8.D, 9.A, 10.C, 11.C, 12.C, 13.B, 14.D, 15.D.

- Welcome to my Operations Management class.

- Some sample questions for midterm 3.

- I linked this page to Webct homepage so you can start all of your browsing at webct.

- Please do not give or take your hws to/from somebody else. Even giving parts of your answers violates academic honesty. The student, who gives his/her hw to another student, is also violating academic honesty. When your hw is "judged" to be identical to another hw, you will lose marks. When you see such deductions and have questions, see either me or your TA. On the other hand, discussing questions and giving hints to your friends is perfectly alright, just do not give your hw in any form. I actually enjoy reading how you use Webct discussion board.

- At times you may not find recently added files or announcements on this site although I announce them in the class. This may happen if your computer is accessing to an old version of BA3352 web page from its cache. The solution is to set the cache files to expire faster, say in 4-5 hours, or to refresh the web page.

- When citing an article, write its name, authors, where it is published and when. Otherwise it is hard to look at your sources. Especially dynamic http links are not valid at all, because right after you are done that link is disabled. Dynamic links are generated temporarily and they include characters like ?, &.

- Bring your test questions: Prepare 2 test questions per person for the test and e-mail to Xianhua. I will pick nice questions out of this pool and put on the tests. This is an optional deal. You do not have to prepare questions and you do not get credit for doing so.

- Midterm course evaluations/suggestions: Please fill out an evaluation form and put into my office. These evaluations are just for me to improve the course.

- I am not going to post grades but soon after I assign grades the school posts them electronically. Some students already know about this, ask them because I do not know the address of the web page where grades are posted.

- Some of the documents on this site are in portable document format (pdf). You can view them by using Adobe Acrobat Viewer, for free download www.adobe.com.
