The Zyvex F100 Nano-Manipulator system allows for amazing resolution of control. The nano-manipulator is physically coupled to the FEI Nova 200 sample stage. A schematic of the manipulator system is shown to the right. The manipulator can be equipped with different effectors: microgrippers, probes, and jammers. For further control and accuracy, both the manipulator and the stage can move, with the manipulator having four degrees of freedom and the stage having five degrees of freedom.



The joystick, pictured to the left, is the interface device used to control the nano-manipulator system. This joystick is used to control the manipulator with a working resolution of better than 10 nm.
