My Interesting Websites

  • 3D - I love watching 3D pictures and discover what is the picture behind the scene. Can you see Dinosaur or tractor in these 3D pictures?

  • GIS Web Links - This website contains GIS, Remote Sensing, GPS, Application Development, and Internet Web Service links.

  • Arabic GIS Club - Arabic GIS club that discuss GIS, Remote Sensing, GPS, Surveying subjects.

  • 3D Scanner - A 3D scanner is a device that analyzes a real-world object or environment to collect data on its shape and possibly its appearance (i.e. color). The collected data can then be used to construct digital, three dimensional models useful for a wide variety of applications. These devices are used extensively by the entertainment industry in the production of movies and video games. Other common applications of this technology include industrial design, orthotics and prosthetics, reverse engineering and prototyping, quality control/inspection and documentation of cultural artifacts.

  • LiDAR - LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is an optical remote sensing technology that measures properties of scattered light to find range and/or other information of a distant target. The prevalent method to determine distance to an object or surface is to use laser pulses. Like the similar radar technology, which uses radio waves, which is light that is not in the visible spectrum, the range to an object is determined by measuring the time delay between transmission of a pulse and detection of the reflected signal. LIDAR technology has application in Geomatics, archaeology, geography, geology, geomorphology, seismology, remote sensing and atmospheric physics.[1] Other terms for LIDAR include ALSM (Airborne Laser Swath Mapping) and laser altimetry. The acronym LADAR (Laser Detection and Ranging) is often used in military contexts. The term laser radar is also in use but is misleading because it uses laser light and not the radiowaves that are the basis of conventional radar.

  • GHVM - Geological & Historical Virtual Models, LLC is a new company which will provide analysis tools for point clouds and TIN surface models of geological outcrops and man made structures that have been imaged with terrestrial LIDAR
