TETC-TWD Scholarships

for undergraduate transfer students majoring in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering

Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science

The Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science in conjunction with the 2005 Texas Technology Workforce Development Grants Program is offering one-year scholarships to CE/EE/TE majors beginning in Fall 2007. The TETC/TWD  scholarship award provides up to $2,000 per year for qualified students transferring from Community Colleges or other Universities that expect to start their studies at UTD in Summer or Fall 2007. The scholarships are both need and non-need based.  This scholarship can be awarded to students who are already receiving other scholarships or financial aid.  Typically, the award amount will be applied to the student’s tuition ($1,000 per semester for two semesters). Applications from students who would enhance the diversity of the student body, especially female, Hispanic and African-American students are strongly encouraged.

2.      maintain full-time enrollment in the UTD Computer, Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering bachelor degree program, with a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or above.

In addition, students applying for the need-based scholarships must have a demonstrated financial need as defined by the U.S. Department of Education to be the difference between the institutional Cost of Attendance and the Estimated Family Contribution.
