My Graduate Thesis Project: A
Framework For Reuse Of Software Binaries
I developed a framework and
tool to check software for safety properties without accessing source code. The
tool can automatically detect programming bugs without accessing source code.
The analysis is performed in the disassembled code obtained from the executable
code. This tool helps in increasing software reliability, enforcing software
quality, increasing software reuse, and reducing the time to market for new
software (embedded) systems. The tool can also detect null pointer
dereferencing bugs without running the program. This is necessary to ensure
software quality of proprietary software before re-using code in other systems.
I have published papers in the ACM CASES 2004 and ICDCIT 2004 conferences.
