Ron Blair is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting with a focus on federal taxation. He joined UTD in 1990 as an adjunct lecturer prior to transitioning into a full-time management role. He continued to teach part-time while serving as the university's Director of Budget and Financial Affairs from February, 1999 through the spring of 2004 when he assumed full-time teaching as a Senior Lecturer. His classroom and online courses include:

Mr. Blair honed his expertise with more than 30-years in the field of Federal Taxation, largely focusing on resolution of disputed tax issues for both large- and mid-size corporations, as well as, individuals. During his extensive career with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Mr. Blair held senior management positions including Assistant to the Director, Appeals Division, National Office of IRS; Assistant Regional Director of Appeals with oversight of the 12-state Mid-states Region and former Southwest Region; and Chief, Dallas Appeals Office. Mr. Blair was directly responsible for resolution of disputed tax issues; and as local, regional and national management of the IRS' Appeals Division operations he was charged with resolving relevant issues preceding and precluding the necessity of litigation.
Extensive success as an Appeals Manager in the resolution of large- and mid-size Corporate tax and Individual income tax issues has provided him with unique knowledge and valuable insight into the IRS tax resolution process.
Mr. Blair continues to refine his expertise as a Certified Public Accountant while working as a consultant in Federal tax mediation and dispute resolution and he has been engaged as an expert witness. Mr. Blair has authored numerous articles published in the Journal of Accountancy and Tax Adviser magazines on the subject of tax issues.
