Changes in climate will necessitate changes in agriculture practice such as:

• increased irrigation,
• increased growth in response to higher CO₂ levels,
• different crops adapted to new areas,
• changing planting/harvesting dates, and
• crops grown at higher latitude.

The effects of the change could be:

• lack of irrigation water,
• increase in the number and variety of insects,
• high cost of relocating crop land,
• thinner, poorer soils and
• aquifers readily available now could dry up.
