All MAT-SE Online! core courses are set to open to the "Announcements" page by default. This is a major communication tool for instructor-student interaction. Clicking on the "Announcements" link in the Course Menu will display the most recent announcements first. Notice that you may choose other views to review course announcements in terms of:

You probably noticed that the icon for BlackBoard announcements is a paper with a thumbtack (). Recall that you can get a snapshot listing of announcements for all courses in which you are currently enrolled in your Student Portal:
