UTD | Science Education Programs & Events

We expect our online students to be just as connected to and involved with the life of the Science Education Program at UTD as the onsite students. In fact, sometimes the distance learners are even more engaged as they often have more time and easier access! We encourage all MAT-SE students to attend as many university and department activities as possible. There's a lot going on all the time... Some things will be more meaningful to you, so don't feel obligated to try to keep up with everything. There are things going on in your own communities that impact your studies, our program, and our small world, after all!

Your instructors will alert you to special events through the course announcements usually. The Science Education Program will also let you know about the latest professional development and continuing education opportunities via direct email occasionally. Be sure to look for UTD and UTTC at local, state, and national conferences too. You'll also receive important notices by being on the UTD student listserv. Don't just dump these into your spam folder!

Remember to set up email forwarding if you do not regularly check your @utdallas.edu account.

Let us know what sorts of things interest you. It may be that you can host a summer field trip or provide a link to a special webcast. Take time to find out about your classmates and MAT-SE peers. You might be surprised at how much you have in common! Your conversations are not limited to the courses - or to email only... Enjoy being a student and make the most of the challenges and opportunities of lifelong learning.
