UTD Services Comet CardThe Comet Card is the official identification card for all UTD students, faculty, and staff. The Comet Card allows the use of campus facilities and services and offers optional Campus Accounts for on-campus purchases and payments. It is issued upon your initial association with UTD and must be retained throughout your affiliation with the University, even though you may not attend consecutive semesters. The card (and associated Student ID number) is automatically activated, or deactivated, based on your current status with the University.
Comet Cards are issued on campus at the Info Depot. Online students can request a physical card as follows:
Comet Cards for new students and staff will be printed with the UTD-ID beginning August 1, 2006.In the interest of protecting your identity, UTD has created a new primary identifier that replaces your Social Security number. (This change was completed on July 5, 2006.) You may use your UTD-ID number if you do not wish to disclose your Social Security number. However, you may continue to use your Social Security number. FYI, current Comet Card holders may exchange their card for one with the new UTD-ID after October 1, 2006. The old card must be turned in to receive a new one at no cost.
