Galaxy!

Galaxy is a new intranet being built by the university, in response to requests from the students, faculty and staff for more user-friendly information systems. The first phase launched August 7 and includes a number of features that promise to improve your online experience.

Galaxy connects you to your personal records, e-mail and WebCT with one sign-in. A number of UTD departments are collaborating to provide announcements, deadlines, notices, etc. in a customizeable format similar to My Yahoo!, My MSN, or Google Personalized Home. Personalized news channels will include: Academic Advising, The UTD Mercury, Money Matters, Comet Sports, The President's Viewpoint, Comet Calendar, Intramurals, Facts & Figures, and International Student News, for example. You may re-arrange the content/layout of this page too if you like - just click on the  'Content'Layout' link at the top center!

Use your NetID and password to access e-mail, WebCT (for non-UTTC courses), and Student Information System (SIS), all at once. UTD's Student Information System (SIS) is linked to UTTC's TeleCampus Information System. Once you've logged in, you can access registration, billing, and financial aid options. All transactions are encrypted through a secure connection. (Onsite students also use SIS for almost everything.)

It is easier if you don’t select “Log Off” from each internal site you select within Galaxy. If you do so, you will have to reenter your password. Just close (or “X out”) of each internal site. Select “Log Off” only when you want to completely exit Galaxy.
