Technical Support

Life usually happens while you're making other plans; but, there are things that you can do to minimize the 'surprises' - and there are people who can help. Your success in this course/program is dependent on a number of things: some are beyond your control (i.e. rolling power brown-outs), but others can be attended to so that you can concentrate on your learning.

Review the helpful information (computer requirements, browser configuration, tools, and FAQs) available on the UTTC Technical Support webpage. That where you'll find a convenient 'Browser Checker' tool to make sure that common elements and other settings for your web browser are current and configured correctly.

  1. Take the necessary precautions (i.e. virus scan).
  2. Keep up to date (i.e. software updates).
  3. Play it safe (i.e. backup your major work).
  4. Don't panic (i.e. ask for help when you need it).

Now is the best time to make sure that you're ready for your course(s).

Embanet

UTTC's customer support service partner, Embanet, provides FREE, immediate, round-the-clock, live technical support to all UTTC students, faculty, and staff. Top-notch technical support is available to you 24 hours a day x 7 days a week x 365 days a year!

  • 1-866-321-2988 (toll-free)
  • 1-416-494-6622 x1 (long distance)

If you have a technical problem, call Embanet; they will involve the appropriate folks in resolving all sorts of issues with prompt and practical responses. For example, if you are having a trouble with a course item (i.e. uploading an assignment or accessing a quiz), your instructor (and often the course designer) will be notified of your call status.

Keep in mind that faculty and staff call Embanet first, too! Teaching/learning online does not a computer expert make... Each system is as unique as each user, but Embanet has the knowledge base and service capabilities to help. If you've done your part, let them do their job - before frustration impedes your progress.

UTTC Technical Support

If Embanet is unable to resolve your problem, UTTC technical staff are available to help you Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Central Time, at uttctechsup@utsystem.edu (please provide your name, phone number and a brief description of your problem) or 1-888-TEXAS-16.

Don't forget that you can find answers to the most frequently asked technical questions and resolution steps for common technical issues on the UTTC website!
