AIR UTD Workshop participation is designed to inspire the artistry of teaching by enabling teachers to experience different types of learning and by empowering them to use a range of valuable curriculum tools and resources. On completion, teachers received customizable lesson plans based on North Texas Clean Air Coalition (NTCAC) air quality lessons; the 537-page Project Wild K-12 Curriculum & Activity Guide; ‘make-and-take’ models of Penny Ante Science lab activity props; and other miscellaneous demonstration and collateral materials. Courtesy of PASCO Scientific, some 'lucky' teachers even took home a PASCO Temperature Lab door prize!
As incentive to implement the curriculum in their classrooms, we created and maintain this website to support and encourage the teachers. Follow-up emails are sent to remind teachers about their new curriculum materials and to establish a collaborative electronic network. The chance to win one of four PASCO General Science Entry Bundles will provide incentive to participate in a voluntary research study on the effectiveness of the materials and impact on student learning – and action – in school classrooms.
