The Generation of Passage |

The very last image of the book leaves us with an idea that no one can deny. The image shows the father, that was once the baby boy, holding his daughter and rocking her in his arms. The image shows that the son loves his daughter just as much as he was loved. Although it does not show the daughters mother, the idea that is being shown is through the father. The dress of the father shows that he works and provides for his daughter and relays that he provides for her and loves her deeply. The image of him holding the baby looks a lot like the first picture of the book |

where the mother is holding him in her arms. The main view that all the images of the book showed was that a mother's love is enduring and strong. This last image shows a idea that makes the reader think and will make them remember this book over others. Not only does her love always last, but he will in return show that love to his kids and treat them with as much love as he was treated. This image alone shows that the power of love is never ending and that it can change someone's life and it will be repeated in a person you show your own love to. The images in the book gave the reader a sense of happiness about love and their mother or child. The images were presented in a order that shows a progression of thought and makes the book successful at showing their message. Like a good essay it also took its message about love and turned it into a broader idea for the reader to think about after they put the book down. Creating this book in another way might have made the message stronger or weaker. A movie would seem less personal and presenting it in photo form instead of a colored pencil drawing would make it seem too straight forward and not as humorous. The text and drawn images make the message more powerful, because the presentation is for a child and shows that anyone can understand the message of love is not only a joy that we feel, but a lesson that can be taught and will be used by others. |
