Fan's Letters

Gary Suter

"I remember thinking 'they don't have a chance. The Russian team was a much better skilled team, and the American team had just recently lost (10-3) to them. I didn't even watch the game. I went to the bowling alley instead because I thought for sure there was no chance to win. When I came out of the theater, people we're screaming, 'We beat the Russians.' I couldn't believe it."

Mark Parrish

Lance

“It was a huge achievement. It was a bunch of guys who got together and completely overachieved, won the gold and stole the hearts of everyone in the world."

Shjon

It was a classic underdog moment. I think being in that position pulled the country together in a hockey sense."
