The 9th Workshop On Information Technologies And Systems (WITS'99) will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, during December 11-12, 1999, just prior to the International Conference on Information Systems. The purpose of the workshop is to promote discussion and interaction among members of the Information Systems community with research interests in cutting-edge information technologies and systems. We are particularly interested in exchanging research ideas and results that will not only contribute to academic areas, but will also benefit the business community in the foreseeable future. The theme for the workshop is IT Challenges for the New Millennium: Research, Development, and Deployment Issues.

The length of submitted papers is limited to 10 double-spaced, 12-point font 8.5" by 11" pages (including tables, figures, and references). Panel proposals are limited to 5 pages, and should include a summary of the topics to be covered, names and affiliations of 3-4 panelists who have made a commitment to participate, a summary of their position statements, and a brief biography of each. A mix of industry and academic panel members is encouraged. All submissions, excluding panel proposals, will be reviewed double blind. Selection for presentation at the workshop and publication in the proceedings will be based on originality, contribution to the field, and workshop interest. Authors of selected research papers will be invited to submit complete versions of their work for possible journal publication after the workshop.
ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION
Submissions must be sent electronically using the WITS'99 Submission system. The submissions should preferably be prepared in PDF or Word (version 6 or higher). The submission system will go live on June 28, 1999.
For research paper submissions, the cover page
of the actual submission file should contain the title and
abstract only. The remaining pages (upto 10 at most) should
include the main body of the submission, references, tables,
figures, etc. This
file must not identify the author(s) in any manner.
