Theories of Amplification Labs

LAB FORMAT

Required materials:

Non-spiral Lab notebook containing college-ruled sheets, Yellow Highlighter, Scissors,
Double sided Tape; Except for the Lab Notebook which will be kept each week by the lab instructor, all items need to be brought lab each time.

Demonstrations:

Prior to each lab there will be a brief demonstration of the equipment/procedures that will be presented during regular class time.

Guided Explorations:

A handout will be provided during lab time that describes a sequence of procedures to conduct to review/reinforce the concepts presented during the previous class. Exploration of equipment/manuals prior to the lab is highly recommended. Keywords for each lab should be studied prior to the lab session for maximum integration of information.

Summary of Concepts:

During the last 15 minutes of each lab, two or three questions will be presented which must be answered in the lab notebooks independently. Some questions will involve printouts that may be taped into the notebooks. At the end of the time, the notebooks will gathered by the lab instructor.
