Designing experiments to fit aims.
- You must go into as much detail as necessary to explain EXACTLY what you intend to do and how you will carry through the project. This section will be reviewed thoroughly by experts in your field. Your objectives should match your specific aims, and your procedures should describe how every experiment will be accomplished and how it will answer your research hypotheses.
- Your mission is to describe fully how you will do the work. You must also ddress all conceivable or likely difficulties or pitfalls, and how you plan to deal with them. Emphasize the strengths of your approach, but don't fail to point out weaknesses that will be apparent to others in the field.
- Fully detail your CONTROL group(s)/experimental procedure(s). Explain why your controls are a necessary part of your study. This will enhance your stature and make apparent your understanding of your research problem(s) in your reviewers' eyes.
- Create a realistic TIMETABLE to carry out the research plan. Explain how you will accomplish this timetable.
