            descending pyramidal tract fibers
  outputs:  Broadman's areas 6, 5 (premotor CTX)
  function: motor association (coordination)

ventral lateral n.
  inputs:   cerebellum (dentate n.)
            basal ganglia
            red n.
  outputs:  Broadman's areas 4, 6, 5 (precentral gyrus:  motor & premotor CTX)
  function: pyramidal/extra-pyramidal association, feeback

most of these are reciprocal connections (bidirectional)
