 S. Venkatesan (Venky)  received the B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 1981 and 1983, respectively, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 1985 and 1988, respectively. He joined the Computer Science Program at UTD in January 1989 where he is currently a Professor. Venky has been a consultant for a number of companies in the Dallas area.

Research Interests

Current research efforts are in wireless sensor networks and its application to medical instrumentation, cognitive radio networks, mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), fault tolerance, distributed algorithms, telecommunication networks, and mobile computing.
