DWAYNE CARTER

Dwayne Carteršs CD-ROM, The Dark Bible, re-presents the narrative from the four Gospels in a contemporary, secular context; his innovative animation represents a kind of figurative painting in motion. Merging video documentation of a gathering of friends with digital drawings, Carter recreates scenes from the Bible. The characters' dialogue makes the familiar seem strange. We hear biblical verses in an everyday context, prompting our reflection on these ancient stories and our contemporary interpretations. This Shockwave Flash animation was created for the web and for CD-ROM.
